Modelling agency charged with caring for Russian model who passed away after 13-hour runway speaks out

More information emerges.

Following the death of 14-year-old Russian model Vlada Dzyuba in China last week, the modelling agency charged with her care has spoken out.
Giving a statement to The Global Times, agency Esee Model Management has denied Dzyuba was overworked, telling the paper she had regular breaks and worked normal hours.
“Dzyuba had 16 different jobs during her two-month stay in China. She had regular breaks while working. Most of her work was completed within eight hours. Her workload was moderate compared with other models, CEO of the agency, Zheng Yi, said.
The official cause of Dzyuba’s death was meningitis compounded by severe exhaustion, and a medical report released by Shanghai Fashion Week, also revealed the young model was suffering from septicopyemia (a type of blood poisoning) with multiple organ damage, liver dysfunction and renal problems.
Initial reports said Dzyuba was working a three hour week, which, if Yi’s statement is correct, has proven to be false.
Furthermore, despite saying Dzyuba was working within legal parameters of Chinese law, the alleged 13-hour show which proved too much for an exhausted Dzyuba was completely against the law.
Russian authorities are still investigating Dzyuba’s death.
