Peyton Manning deposition in sexual assault case airs on 'Inside Edition'

Never-before-seen video footage of Peyton Manning's 2003 deposition after being accused of sexual assault by an University of Tennessee athletic trainer was recently brought to light.
Inside Edition acquired the video for a piece that involved the then-trainer, Dr. Jamie Naughright, who felt compelled to make her first television appearance regarding the incident from Feb. 29, 1996.
"The reason why I'm here today is due to the courage and bravery that the women have come forward with the Harvey Weinstein, the survivors and the victims," Naughright told Inside Edition. "And that is really what has brought me here today to discuss that issue."
The issue involves a visit Manning made to the training room for an inured foot when he was 19 years old at the University of Tennessee. The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback claims it was all just part of a prank on another teammate.
Naughright made a report with the Sexual Assault Crisis Center telling the counselor that she "feared for her job, worried and feared for her life."
Naughright filed an employment discrimination complaint against the university and received a $300,000 settlement before leaving the following year.
The issue resurfaced in Manning's 2001 autobiography, which drew a defamation lawsuit from Naughright that also ended in a settlement.
In the deposition, Manning states, “I briefly pulled down my pants to so-called ‘moon’ him. One second, 1 1/2 seconds. Pulled my pants back up and continued with Jamie examining my foot.”
The deposition is quite a different story than Naughright's depiction of events.
"It's a lie," she told Inside Edition.
“I felt something on my face and Peyton had pulled his shorts down and had sat his anus and his testicles on my face, so I pushed him up and out he turned around and pulled his shorts back up.”
When Inside Edition asked what she saw in Manning's face, she gave a troubling description uncharacteristic of the Manning everyone adores.
"It was anger. It was violence. It was definitely a predator, intimidating, anger, violent eyes that he had."
Inside Edition reached out to Manning's attorney, Matthew D. McGill. In a statement, he revealed Manning's former roommate at the time, Greg Johnson, "saw what happened and Peyton did not do what is claimed."
Inside Edition noted that at least one other athlete, who both Manning and Naughright say were present, says he didn't see Johnson in the room.
As for the allegations, an additional statement from McGill read, "Peyton Manning has been absolutely clear: Jamie Naughright’s accusations are false. When her claims were first investigated 21 years ago, she told a very different story. Her current account was invented several years later in connection with her first of several groundless litigations against Peyton. Most recently, she left Peyton’s mother a vulgar and extremely disturbing voicemail. Ms. Naughright should stop this abusive behavior."
Naughright did not deny the call to Manning's parents took place.
She only told Inside Edition, "I'm on Ambien. And I had sleptwalk and somehow found that number. "And anger and Ambien is not a good combination."
